One of Indonesia’s well-known independent VTubers, Mythia Batford, attended Comic Frontier (Comifuro) 22 on 16 to 17 May 2026, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, with her own booth. Located at Booth AB-05/06, her presence sparks excitement among VTuber fans, especially since Mythia herself were present to welcome her fans.

The KAORI team had the opportunity to chat directly with Mythia Batford, who was helping to manage the booth alongside her staff. The booth was constantly crowded with visitors from various backgrounds. We even have to wait before we can chat with the person running the booth.

Curious about the interview? Here’s our interview with KAORI and Mythia Batford.

First, can you introduce yourself?

Okay, my name is Mythia Batford, you can also call me Miti. I am an indie VTuber from Indonesia. I debuted as a Virtual YouTuber on 1 December 2020.

What makes you unique in the industry today?

What makes me stand out in this industry today is my ability to engage and entertain my audience. My communication style feels relatable, modern, and enjoyable for viewers, and I believe those qualities have helped me reach where I am today.

In addition, I make every free talk session with the community feel livelier and more distinctive by fostering a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere.

What do you think is the biggest challenge to surviving in the current VTuber industry?

I believe the biggest challenge I encounter is time management. As an independent VTuber, I have to manage my time on my own. This becomes important when my time is split between relaxing, streaming, networking, and producing content for social media.

What is your solution to this biggest challenge?

Making a daily schedule is my solution. I still make plans in advance and will continue to do so. Not only does it make me more organised and diligent, but it also increases my adaptability and flexibility in the face of change. For instance, I always have a backup plan.

Maintaining discipline in both my schedule and lifestyle also benefits me not only as a content creator but in my everyday life as well, with positive long-term effects.

Lastly, but just as importantly, I need to be able to manage my time between work and leisure.

What are your hopes for the future of the VTuber industry in Indonesia?

In terms of my aspirations for the future, I hope that the community will support one another in times of need, especially when facing challenges together.

In addition, I hope that the negative aspects can be minimised, particularly in light of the current, widely discussed situation.

Sharing knowledge with others is equally important, especially because of the large number of people who are interested in the VTuber community.

Finally, because the VTuber industry in Indonesia is still niche, I hope that once the industry and community have solidified their foundations, they will slowly but surely be accepted by a wider audience.

Do you have any tips for those interested in entering the VTuber world, either as a VTuber themselves or as staff?

As a VTuber, it is important to do research before jumping in. Try to understand a VTuber from the perspective of a viewer. Understanding what audiences find engaging and identifying growth opportunities are both essential. Additionally, after every stream, frequently evaluate the technical aspects, the quality of the content, and the content itself.

A staff member’s approach differs slightly from that of a VTuber. The difference is that, as a staff member, it is important to acquire the knowledge required to be better equipped to enter the VTuber world, especially with a focus on management and communication with various parties.

Thank you for the interview, Miti. We wish you further success in the future!
