Previously, Encore Films hinted that three live actions film from Japan will be shown in Indonesia. The three films are Gintama, Let’s Go, Jets!, and Tokyo Ghoul. After the screening of Let’s Go, Jets! In July 2017 and Gintama in August 2017, the schedule for Tokyo Ghoul, which had premiered in Japan on 29 July 2017, has been announced.

On Friday (25/7), Moxienotion and Cinemaxx Theater announced via their Facebook page that the live action film of Tokyo Ghoul will begin screening on 13 September 2017. Encore Films also announced the news on Saturday (26/7). CGV Cinemas Indonesia has also confirmed the film screening on its cinema.

The film is directed by Kentaro Hagiwara. Masanori Morikawa designs the ghouls’ masks and costumes. Don Davis is handling on the music while Nicholas Becker is on the sound arrangements.

Tokyo Ghoul is a manga series by Sui Ishida. It follows a boy named Ken Kaneki who witnessed a killing by man-eating creatures called ghouls. The manga had been adapted into two seasons of anime. The first season was aired in summer 2014 while the second season was aired in early 2015. It has also been adapted into a game. The manga is published in Indonesia by m&c.
