This season, Fuji TV’s anime block, noitaminA, hosted an adaptation of ERASED (Japanese title: Boku Dake ga Inai Machi), a seinen manga by Sanbe Kei. ERASED tells the story about Satoru Fujinuma, a struggling mangaka who has reserved character and tends to keep himself from others. However, he has a supernatural ability to prevent death of someone else by reversing time. In Japan, the manga has been nominated for the Manga Taisho award in 2014 and 2015, for new manga categories (manga series which are relatively new (have published less than 8 volumes) and have released at least one volume in the last year).
After airing Subete ga F ni Naru in the previous season, noitaminA continue the mystery trend by adapting a seinen manga by Sanbe Kei. While the first episode seems to try to give too much information to the viewer, ERASED is still able to begin their mystery and leads the viewers to prepare for the bigger mystery. Supported with good directing and music, ERASED is ready to present a gripping mystery thriller while that can make the viewers curious. (Dany Muhammad / The Indonesian Anime Times)

Yo Shikada is the 8th owner of a dagashi (cheap sweets store) in a rural area. His son, Kokonotsu Shikada wants to be a mangaka instead of inheriting the shop. One day, Hotaru Shidare, a girl with a weird fetish for snacks, comes to their store. She offers Kokonotsu’s father to work for her company, which produces snacks. Shikada’s father refuses to accept unless Hotaru can persuade Kokonotsu to inherit the shop.
Dagashikashi is a nice show that is as light as its snacks. A comedy that sets around Japanese snacks, its jokes are great and the information about the snacks are nicely delivered in a comical fashion that will make you spits your snack or drink if you eat while watching this show. Dimension W is science-fiction story created by Yuji Iwahara, that centers on “coil”, a device that absorbs the energy of Dimension W. The story begins when coil-hating repo man named Kyouma encountered Mira, a coil-powered android that holds a great potential and origins that remain uncovered. Both of them will undergo an adventure to reveal hidden secrets.
Even though giving an impression of being some kind of dark and mature anime, Dimension W still highlights a cute character to be a center point of this series. Mira will definitely becomes the selling point of this anime, but that doesn’t mean the story can be taken lightly. Hopefully this will be a great action anime of this season since it delivers a good introduction to its universe. Studio 3Hz cannot really be called an old player in the anime industry. But when looking at Kanta Kamei (Saekano, Usagi Drop) as the director of this series and its promising premise, Dimension W could still be one of the dark horse of winter 2016 anime. No one knows from where, how, and when “The Gate” was created, in addition there also some who are able to touch, see, or go through it. When The Gate is opened then all beings from another world will be able to freely roam and destroy the world. In the human world super powers have become common, and they are often abused to commit crimes. This is the story of the super powered humans who attempt to reach the gate to become Divine Gate.
Coming with gloomy atmosphere, Divine Gate is one of the promising action anime in this season. In addition to its unique strength, Divine Gate also presented a variety of interesting weaponry. Divine Gate will certainly present exciting battles that does not disappoint. (Johann/KAORI Newsline)

Celty discovered that her residence with Shinra had been filled with surprising mish mash of guests. Through many troubles, she attempted to gather information from them in order to make sense of what is happening in Ikebukuro. Then, following Shinra’s advice, the people who had gathered there agreed to form a new group that will help each other and share information to take further actions regarding the problems that were brewing in Ikebukuro.
Once again, the strength of Durarara!! is in the interaction between the characters with their quirky and mad personalities. This time, Celty must endure facing some people who keep doing incomprehensible things, exchanging insulting banters, and even getting far out of topic; in order to make some sense of what’s happening. Despite being a sort of recap, it’s amusing because of it being conveyed with such madness. The web of frictions among the factions in Ikebukuro also keeps getting more complicated. If you have been loyally following Durarara!! since the very first season, you can continue to enjoy the tune of chaos weaved by this anime. Don’t forget to refresh your memory and remember some details from previous seasons, though. (Halimun Muhammad/The Indonesian Anime Times)
