Komugi Yoshida, the daughter of a doctor, is an eighth grader who is also an aspiring idol of the local shopping street, with dreams of performing at the Tokyo Skydome. One day, she encountered a talking rabbit who asked her to be the “Legendary Girl”; a heroine of love and justice who fights monsters with magical powers
With new characters, Komugi-chan R continues the legacy of Nurse Witch Komugi OVAs from the early 2000s, parodying magical girl anime as seen by the otaku that also enjoying the genre. It’s not surprising then, that this anime also incorporates influences from other otaku interests such as idol, humanoid monsters (kaijin), to highlighting the common tropes of “transforming hero(ine)” genre. So far, it does so in a fun and amusing way, even though a parody like this is already common by now. Perhaps it is because Komugi-chan R feels like it’s still respecting the original genre and its other influences despite being a parody. Komugi-chan R is a light and entertaining comedy, even if it doesn’t have that much deep content, compared to proper magical girl anime such as Heartcatch Precure. Hige is an older man who works at an IT company and loves marshmallows. His coworker, Wakabayashi, has a crush on him. To get Hige’s attention, Wakabayashi often teases him with the marshmallow that he loves.
This short, three-and-a-half minute anime series offers a light and amusing comedy through the interaction between the characters. There’s Hige who is tsundere about marshmallows (liking sweets is considered unmanly for Japanese men) and also dense to his coworker’s crush on him despite it’s very blatantly on display. Then there’s Wakabayashi, the office lady who aggressively pursue Hige’s affection. HIge’s weakness to marshmallow, Wakabayashi’s aggressive teases, and Hige’s dense response, all make the interaction between this couple becomes funny and adorable. This could be one of the most moe anime of the year. (Halimun Muhammad / The Indonesian Anime Times)

Reiko Shirai just got a new job, and as the consequence, he has to rent an apartement for himself. He was shocked when he found out that his lanlord turns out to be a middle school student. Everyday, she does houseworks just like an old granny, while she also enjoys playing with her friends from school like a middleschooler in general.
This 2-minutes anime offers ordinary everyday life story, but with the twist of a little weirdness (that the lanlord is a middleschooler). Watching this anime is not really different from reading its manga version, and the comedy can be enjoyed well. Other than that, for a short anime, the picture is quite good and detailed. Even though this is a short anime, at least it is quite amusing to be watched. (M Razif Dwi Kurniawan / The Indonesian Anime Times)

An anime series that is adapted from a manga with the same title. It tells about Gyaruko’s school life together with her friends, Otako and Ojo. Together they talk about many things, from school lessons to everyday topics.
Although some conversations in this first episode seems vulgar to some people, still Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan is a good anime to watch for those who prefer school life genre with some comedy on it. In 8 minutes, watchers will be served an up-and-down talk between Gyaruko and her friends, together with some school life’s typical scenes and various expressions of Gyaruko, that show a reverse side of her: she appeals many boys in her class with her sexy appearance, while actually she’s still an innocent girl. Itsuki Tachibana is a student of Seiga Academy, a prestigious boarding highschool in a suburbs. Because of Itsuki’s good grades and good attendance, he was appointed as the vice president of his highschool. and his first job? Playing Phantasy Star Online 2.
At first i was hoping we are going to have a show like Ragnarok, Blazblue or .hack. But I was wrong. it’s an anime of someone playing an online game, without getting trapped inside it, and it’s good. The anime brings a familiar feeling for someone who played the game before. Also, it depicts the game nicely. the unorthodox approach might be working for PSO:Animation, while the-chosen-ones trope might appear sooner or later. (Naufal / KAORI Newsline)
