“Sanketsu-girl” Sayuri’s new song “About a voyage” confirmed as closing theme of TV anime series My Hero Academia: Season 4!

Single CD release confirmed for Wednesday, November 27!

With first album Mikazuki no Kokai hitting #1 and #3 on Oricon’s daily and weekly album charts respectively, and songs such as “Furaregai Girl”, written and produced by Yojiro Noda of RADWIMPS and “Reimei,” a collaborative song with MY FIRST STORY creating buzz, 2.5D-parallel singer/songwriter “Sanketsu-girl” Sayuri have enjoyed enormous popularity with youth in the teens and 20s at its core fan base. And now her new song “About a voyage” has been confirmed as the closing theme of the 4th season of massively popular TV anime series, My Hero Academia.

TV anime series My Hero Academia originates from Kohei Horikoshi’s massively popular comic series currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump and have sold a total of over 23 million copies of comic books, stirring enthusiasm home and abroad.

The story is set in a world where approximately 80% of the people have some kind of superpower as their “quirk.” Izuku Midoriya, a U.A. High School student, aspires to become a hero that can save the people and the society from accidents, disasters, and criminal/enemy “villains” that abuse the “quirks.” Together with his classmates, Izuku unfolds the story of growth, battles, and friendship.

The fourth season of the massively popular TV anime, commonly abbreviated as Heroaca, will start Saturday, October 12, 2019 and will be aired Saturdays, 5:30pm~ on 29 YTV/NTV network stations nationwide!

Its closing theme “About a voyage” was written especially for My Hero Academia and synchronizes the world of the anime with Sayuri’s “now” and determination, generated from her own journey from her first album Mikazuki no Kokai to this day and depicting on the hope and determination towards the future where there is “still something beyond. This new song “About a voyage” has also been confirmed for a single CD release on Wednesday, November 27! The pre-order event of this single will take place Saturday, October 19, details of which will be announced at a later date.

By singing, “Sanketsu-girl” Sayuri stays present to the loneliness of the “Sanketsu” generation and continues her journey in the recurrent resonance with them. Her hopes and determination from the past through present to the future synchronizes with the world of My Hero Academia in her new song “About a voyage,” with which she embarks on a new voyage.

“Sanketsu-girl” Sayuri Biography

2.5D-parallel singer/songwriter who strums her acoustic guitar as she sings, as “Sanketsu-girl” (hypoxia girl) – an icon of the “Sanketsu generation” who feel the sense of inferiority and just the same amount of superiority to their own sensibility and values that are different from others. Her unique activities in the 2D world is centered on SNS and the Web, and the 3D world is based on live performances; the artist lives in the crossover area, i.e., the 2.5D world.
