Synopsis
Shiroe receives a report that several adventurers have been teleported away from the Yamato server like Crusty. However, they were not found in any other Elder Tale server like Crusty. Many said that they have returned to the real world. Is that true? At the same time, an internal conflict happened among adventurers in Akihabara because the leader of Honesty guild, Eins, lost his trust with the Round Table. Will this be the end of the Round Table?

It has been almost six years since the last episode of Log Horizon aired. If you forgot anything that happened in the previous season, no need to worry, as it seems the conflict will head for a different direction this time, except maybe Crusty’s disappearance. What has happened previously is only mentioned briefly, and it’s clear what’s the focus of this season of Log Horizon in the subtitle: Destruction of the Round Table.
The conflict is also mentioned right off the bat. The first episode of Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table opens with Eins’ declaration to leave the Round Table, which builds the case of distrust among Round Table members. The rest of the episode then jumps backwards to a few days before that happens. Admittedly, a lot happen, but the intricate plot point is always Log Horizon’s appeal. Old fans of the series definitely will enjoy what the first episode brings to the table.
Other than that, there’s a sense of nostalgia that comes from watching the first episode. It’s been almost six years after all. Watching all the familiar characters like Akatsuki, Nyanta, and Princess Rayneshia interact in the Elder Tale world feels oddly heartwarming. Maybe it’s because it has been so long and the anime’s fans really want to know what happens after the end of the second season. And they can feel assured because the third season of Log Horizon still pretty much looks and feels the same way as its previous seasons.
