Anime Festival Asia Indonesia (AFAID 2016), the biggest Japanese pop culture event in Asia, has announced their performers, 4 anime features, 4 film features, 7 guest cosplayers, and many more. AFAID 2016 will be held on Friday to Monday, September 16 to 18, 2016, at Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran. This event will be the 5th AFAID to be held in Jakarta. Last year, this event succesfully attracted more than 60,000 visitors.
COSPLAYER GUEST STARS
Seven foreign cosplayer guests will greet their fans in Anime festival Asia Indonesia (AFAID): Julia from Taiwan, Kaname★ and Reika from Japan, Siu Tao from Hong Kong, Ying Tze from Malaysia, and Baozi & Hana from China. Detailed information about the guests are available on the next page. The guest cosplayers will make an appearance on the main stage on Saturday, September 17.
ARCC INDONESIA
AFA Regional Cosplay Championship (shortened as ARCC) is an International Cosplay Competition held by AFA which consists of the best local cosplay artists. These cosplayers will compete with each other on stage to determine the best cosplay performance. The championship will take place on the main stage on Sunday, September 18. AFA CAFE – NEW THEME, NEW ATMOSPHERE
AFA’s honorable Maid & Butler will be back with a new theme: School Uniform. Come and join us in a classroom-styled restaurant, accompanied by your favorite waiter or waitress. In this AFAID, AFA cafe will present new members of good looking Maid & Butler. Also, come and meet Hitomi, a maid from @home café, Japan.
FOUR FEATURED ANIMES AND THEIR SPECIAL GUEST STARS
AFAID 2016 will present 4 featured animes this year: High School Fleet, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Kuromukuro, and Qualidea Code.
For High School Fleet anime, some guest stars that will be present are seiyuu Atsumi Tanezaki and Nozomi Furuki. Also present will be the series creator Takaaki Suzuki. The anime will be featured on the main stage on Saturday, September 17.
For Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, the seiyuu of Ayame Yomogawa, Maaya Uchida is presented as guest star. The anime will be featured on the main stage on Saturday, September 17.
For Kuromukuro, Talented seiyuu Yohei Azakami will meet his fans in Indonesia. Yohei Azakami voiced Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, the main character in that series. The anime will be featured on the main stage on Saturday, September 17.
For Qualidea Code session, Seiyuu Chika Anzai will be present on stage. The session will take place on the main stage on Friday, September 16.
MOVIES SCREENING – KIZUMONOGATARI: TEKKETSU AND NEKKETSU
In this AFAID 2016 event, the first and second part of KIZUMONOGATARI film trilogy, Tekketsu and Nekketsu will be screened. Written by NISIOISIN, KIZUMONOGATARI is to be adapted into a trilogy: “Tekketsu”, “Nekketsu”, and “Reiketsu”. Brought to you by the renowned director Akiyuki Simbo and studio SHAFT, the creators of the MONOGATARI anime series and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, this is the origin of the “story of apparitions” depicted in BAKEMONOGATARI. This is also the first time for “Nekketsu” part to be screened outside Japan. The films will be screened on the main stage on Sunday, September 18.
SPECIAL SCREENING – ZUTTO MAE KARA SUKI DESHITA KOKUHAKU JIKKO IINKAI
Also first time in Indonesia, there will be a screening for Zutto Mae Kara Suki Deshita Kokuhaku Jikko linkai produced by the creator unit HoneyWorks. This movie tells the story of Sakuraoka High third year student Natsuki Enomoto, who has a crush on her childhood friend Yū Setoguchi. Not being honest with her feelings, she asked him to help her ‘practice’ confessing love. Whilst continuing to hide her feelings, Natsuki gets asked out on a date by her classmate Koyuki Ayase. Will Natsuki be able to get past her ‘practices’ and move on to the real confession!? In this movie, HoneyWorks’ songs ‘Kokuhaku Yoko Renshuu’, ‘Hatsukoi no E-hon’ and ‘Yakimochi no Kotae’ will be used as the central theme of this project. The film will be screened on the main stage on Sunday, September 18.
SPECIAL SCREENING – MY LOVE STORY!!
Takeo Goda (Ryohei Suzuki) is a high school student 2 meters tall and weighing more than 100 kg. He has a righteous character. The male students adore him, but female students do not like him. All of the girls Takeo likes prefer his handsome friend Makoto Sunakawa (Kentaro Sakaguchi).
One day, Takeo saved a female high school student Rinko Yamato (Mei Nagano) from a pervert on the train. Takeo falls in love with her at first sight. He feels Rinko likes Makoto, but Makoto isn’t the one she likes. The movie will be screened on the main stage on Friday, September 16.

They emerged through an audition-reality-show which was broadcasted by FBS Fukuoka Broadcasting on Wednesdays in July 2014, and its 10 audition winners formed 10JINACTOR, the IKEMEN (handsome) entertainment group. Now they have grown up as the most popular boys group around Kyushu neighborhood area in Japan! Catch this group on the main stage on Friday, September 16.
SPECIAL TALKSHOW GUEST – TOMOMI ITANO
Initial member of idol group AKB48 and Team K, she has also been active as an exclusive model of fashion magazine cawaii!. In August 2013, Tomomi Itano graduated from AKB48 after 8 years of being an initial member and started performing as solo artist in earnest.
Her debut single Dear J sold 16.3 million copies in the first week of release and won a second place in Oricon weekly singles sales ranking. Tomomi Itano became the top female solo artist that has a record of 15 million copies sold in the first week of release since Flavor of Life (Hikaru Utada) in 2007.

This year, I Love Anisong Concert will be held in a bigger venue, supported with adequate acoustic and better sound system in Hall C3 area of JI Expo. Alisa Takigawa and motsu X KAYA will come to I Love Anisong concert replacing Eir Aoi, who cancelled her performance because of health issue.
