Makoto Shinkai’s latest work, your name. (Kimi no Na Wa) will be shown in Indonesian cinemas. Distributed by Encore Films, this movie will begin screening on December 7, 2016 on CGV Blitz and Cinemaxx theater network.

Encore Films released a trailer of this movie with Indonesian subtitle on their YouTube channel on November 22, 2016. However, the released trailer incited controversy on social media platforms regarding the supposedly unsatisfactory quality of the translation.

Caught wind of the controversy, Encore Films re-relase the film’s trailer with a new subtitle on November 28, 2016. Released on their Facebook page, Encore Films said that the new subtitle in the trailer is being done by their fans.
