Synopsis
Set in a fantasy world where the lands float in the sky, a young man named Gran has a dream to become a legendary Skyfarer. One day, a battleship of Erste Empire exploded above his island. A blue-haired, mysterious girl named Lyria falls from the battleship. Fate will bind them in a grand adventure which lies in front of them.
Commentary
Did you get your SSR Vira in this month’s Legfest? No? Well, unwind yourself a bit and watch your precious gacha money become a splendid anime show produced at A-1 Pictures this season. But for those who don’t play the game, don’t be afraid. The story are interesting by itself.
If you watched Granblue Anime special broadcast some time ago, those two episodes are exactly the same as the TV series’s episodes. The animation style is quite faithful to the game, even though there is a slightly weird feeling watching the game’s still images being animated. This series also contains a lot of CGI and they are really noticable, especially in Hydra vs Proto Bahamut scene. Curiously, Hisako Kanemoto is listed in the cast as Djeeta, even though Gran and Djeeta are just differently-gendered versions of the protagonist character. But don’t get hopes to high that Djeeta appear as a character in the actual show since she is set for the meta role of an announcer for the series instead.
