This is the story of Moguro Fukuzou, also known as the Laughing Salesman (Warau Salesman). Moguro isn’t an ordinary salesman because of the merchandise he dealt with was human hearts. Every human, young, old, male or female each have their own emptiness in their heart. That is the time when Warau Salesman comes to fill their emptiness, with no payment other than the smile from his customers.
Fujiko F Fujio is the renowned creator behind the worldwide phenomenal anime icon, Doraemon. As a creator Fujiko F Fujio also made other creative works such as P-Man which were generally aimed at kids and all-ages demographic. But among his works, Warau Salesman is one which has a different vibe with more dark and mature themes. This anime is a new serialization of Warau Salesman, with the new story which potrays the social phenomenon among the Japanese people. Some dark, noir, and mature themes are presented in such a straight way in the first episode. The first episode of Warau Salesman NEW portraits some issues regarding the hedonistic behavior among middle-class workers in Japan, who strive to do their best only to achieve better social recognition as the more prosperous among their peers.
