Synopsis
Ichiro Inuyashiki, 58 years old and a father of two; is often ignored by his family due to his old and wrinkled appearance. He only has Hanako, his pet dog, as his partner. Soon after he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, Inuyashiki became a victim of a crash landing incident caused by aliens. He is soon reborn as a robot, together with a young man who happened to be in the same place as him.

Hiroya Oku has been well known for his work, Gantz. Now, he is back with a new series: Inuyashiki. This series introduces us to Ichiro Inuyashiki, a senile old man turned into a robot and helps people in trouble. The first episode takes a look at Inuyashiki’s daily life when he was human, and after he was reborn as a robot.
One thing that stands out in Inuyashiki is the amount of 3DCG. Despite that, the transition between 2D and 3D doesn’t feel jarring to viewers. The CG animation also works well during scenes where Inuyashiki shows off his robotic features. The show also boasts beautiful visuals in the ending scene.
