10. IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls

Idolm@ster Cinderella girls adalah suatu cerita tentang seorang Broducer mengubah sebuah Senyuman seorang gadis biasa menjadi sebuah sihir agar sang gadis tersebut menjadi Cinderella. Walaupun kenaifan sang producer awalnya menjadikan para gadis dalam kesedihan, akhirnya dapat tumbuh menjadi seorang Producer yang dapat mewujudkan impian. Para gadis biasa yang akhirnya menjadi Cinderella. Walaupun sudah menjadi seorang Putri yang berdansa dalam Ballroom, mereka harus berusaha mengembalikan M@GIC yang direnggut oleh Ratu Jahat yang beranggapan sebuah Kastil hanya boleh dimasuki oleh orang yang terpilih. Walaupun penuh rintangan dan sempat kehilangan Egao dan Ganbarimasu para Cinderella berhasil membuktikan bahwa seorang putri tidak membutuhkan kastil yang megah untuk bersinar. Cinderella Girls, sebuah cerita bagaimana seorang Cinderella tumbuh dan dapat bersinar walaupun tidak berada dalam sebuah kastil yang megah. Ceritanya yang cukup straightforward, intrik dan drama yang baik serta tidak lupa ‘senyuman para Cinderella” membuat Cinderella Girls Sangat direkomendasikan untuk fans yang sudah avid maupun para pemirsa umum yang ingin mendalami dunia Idolm@ster. I’ve been a fan of the IDOLM@STER series since 2012 (2nd Vision era), so when I heard that Cinderella Girls is going to be animated, I can’t help but feel excited for it, since it’ll be the perfect timing for me to get to know the series in its entirety. I’ve heard about the mobile game at first, but I haven’t gotten the chance to play it because of the language. Even though the characterization and “drama” is slightly underwhelming compared to the previous IDOLM@STER anime back in 2011, but overall, Cinderella Girls anime is perfect for people who are trying to get into the Cinderella Girls series, or IDOLM@STER series itself with its wide variety of characters, from the optimistic Shimamura Uzuki, to the stoic  Producer (which quickly become my favorite character from the entire series). Here’s hoping that Bandai Namco will announce Million Live anime in the future! (Videtra R.)

9. Charlotte

Anime yang bercerita akan remaja yang mempunyai kekuatan super ini merupakan anime yang layak di tonton. Pengembangan karakter dan cerita yang menarik cukup menjadikan ini sebagai anime terbaik pilihan staff. Terlebih lagi cerita orisinil yang dikarang Jun Maeda ini menghadirkan cerita yang memang menjadi daya tarik dan suksesnya anime Charlotte di kalangan penikmat anime. Banyak masyakat yang ingin cerita orisinil karya Jun Maeda ini semenarik cerita yang di karang sebelumnya, Angel Beats dan Clannad dan cerita yang dihasilkan sangatkah memuaskan masyarakat, Pengguna kekuatan juga menjadi daya Tarik tersendiri pada cerita ini. Terdapat sangatlah banyak kekuatan unik yang berbeda dengan anime bercerita tentang pengguna kekuatan. Dengan segelintir kelebihan yang ada menjadikan anime ini menjadi salah satu anime terbaik di tahun ini. (Hafizh)

Charlotte, an original story from Jun Maeda, who brought us Clannad and Angel Beats. It tells a story of Yuu Otosaka who happens to have a supernatural ability to slip into people’s mind for 5 seconds. He initially used this ability to achieve high marks to allow him to enter a prestigious high school. But the plan didn’t last long as Nao Tomori, a student council president of Hoshinoumi Academy, who also happens to be an ability user, stopped Yuu and convinced him to join the academy for those with supernatural powers. With Yuu’s ability being handy, he joined the student council and helped Nao track people who abuse their powers. Knowing it’s Jun Maeda, we can probably expect the unexpected. The story took a different tone halfway through, and a lot of unexpected events started to unravel. The visuals in this anime are well animated with the soundtracks and songs being the strongest points of the anime. With all of these mentioned, Charlotte managed to secure a place for the must watch anime of 2015. (Eri)

8. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders – Egypt Arc

Tahun ini, satu musim lagi kelanjutan kisah JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure kembali tayang. Mengawali tahun 2015 ini, davidproduction mempersembahkan JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc. Pada seri ini dikisahkan kelanjutan perjalanan sekawanan Jotaro Kujo, Joseph Joestar, Muhammad Abdul, dan yang lainnya dalam pengejaran akan sosok Dio Brando yang diduga tengah bersembunyi di Mesir. Namun meski telah sampai di semenanjung Mesir, kawanan Jotaro justru menghadapi ancaman baru dari para bawahan Dio Brando yang berusaha mencegah usaha mereka menemukan sang musuh bebuyutan dari Jonathan Joestar tersebut. Tahun lalu seri anime ini juga sempat meraih posisi puncak dalam anime terfavorit versi KAORI Newsline. Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc kali ini memiliki nuansa yang berbeda dibanding musim sebelumnya, dimana pada Egypt Arc ini, lebih menampilkan banyak twist baik dari segi humor, perkembangan antar karakter, serta ketegangan pertarungan yang ada. Sebagai penutup dari saga trilogi pertama seri JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure, Egypt Arc ini menyajikan berbagai macam hal yang sayang untuk dilewatkan. Za Warudo! This anime adaptation of the cult classic manga has succeeded in bringing the series back to life with its faithful adaptation. With david production handling the Jojo anime for 2 seasons in a row, Stardust Crusaders manages to maintain its stellar quality shown in previous Jojo adaptations, from the vintage visuals (gotta love that SFX visualizations!) to the storyline. Most people are afraid that the storyline will be butchered in most manga to anime adaptations, but Stardust Crusaders manages to contain all of the important parts in the manga and packed it in 26 episodes. Even though Stardust Crusaders already have a couple of spin-offs and OVAs before, it doesn’t really hurt to watch this one, considering the “updated” graphics, and if you’re interested in the Jojo universe, Stardust Crusaders might be the perfect place to start. Alternatively, you can start from the first season of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure from david production, which covers the first 2 parts of the long-running series; Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Siapa bilang kisah drama tidak bisa mengambil tempat di latar dengan setting futuristik? Plastic Memories, sebuah seri anime original karya studio Doga Kobo dan 5pb. Menyajikan kisah melodrama didalam dunia dengan setting futuristik. Dikisahkan di masa depan, manusia sudah bisa menemukan teknologi Android bernama Giftia yang memiliki kemiripan dengan manusia, namun para Giftia hidup dengan masa hidup yang telah ditentukan dan diprogram. Tema pertemuan dan perpisahan menjadi sajian utama drama di seri ini. Namun meskipun memiliki unsur drama, seri anime ini mempunyai satu kekhasannya sendiri, yakni interpretasi akan sebuah hubungan antar pribadi. Melalui anime ini, disampaikan bahwa apakah memiliki hubungan memang baik? Apakah konflik dalam sebuah hubungan selalu berakhir buruk? Bagaimanakah hubungan antar pribadi terbentuk? Semua disampaikan dengan begitu indahnya dalam seri anime Plastic Memories ini. Perpaduan unsur drama yang memancing sendu dan komedi yang mengundang gelak tawa juga membawa warna sendiri di anime ini. (Rafly N.)

With one of the strongest introduction episode of the year, Plastic Memories deserved to be one of the top anime of 2015. It reaches the emotional climax within the first episode and left us wondering what will be coming next. It portrays a story of Tsukasa Mizugaki who failed his college exams and ended up in SAI Corporation’s Terminal Service Department where his job is to retrieve “Giftias” before the expiry date. Tsukasa gets to partner with Isla, who is to help him with the retrieval of the Giftias. Although this anime ended up focusing more on the character development of the main characters, it did an excellent job on the gradual romantic development between Isla and Tsukasa that makes it believable and even realistic. The anime did not explore the social implications of artificial intelligence in the society as much as it should have, but this is not the primary focus as the show wants you to concentrate on the themes of death and loss. The characters become one of the strongest assets of the anime where you feel the tension and emotions of the characters as you are retrieving an expiring android. The art and the music complement the show very well with a very strong opening and ending to set the mood. If you are looking for a light-hearted drama and a solid romance anime with a sci-fi theme, this is our pick for one of the best romance anime in 2015. (Eri)

6.Gatchaman Crowds Insight

Kehadiran sekuel dari Gatchaman Crowds ini sempat menimbulkan keraguan apakah ia akan dapat menambahkan hal yang baru dan menarik kepada narasi yang telah dibangun sebelumnya namun sekuel ini ternyata tetap mampu mengangkat berbagai tema yang kompleks secara cerdas dan memikat. Mulai dari kondisi teknologis, konflik dan harmoni dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, pendekatan marketing dalam jejaring komunikasi digital, psikologi massa, hingga peran media dalam membentuk opini publik. Gatchaman Crowds Insight merupakan sebuah karya penting dengan materi yang relevan dan menarik untuk direnungkan dengan kondisi sosial saat ini. (Halimun)

While it’s not the first anime that try to show the grey side of society, Gatchaman Crowds is one of the few that sucessfully make it relatable with our society. Sure the setting are fictional, but the conflics are what we usually see in our everyday live as social creature. Director Kenji Nakamura and Scriptwriter Toshiya Oono manage to observe human communication and behaviour, especially when using technology and social media, and integrate it to their story, make it deeper, richer and smarter. Of course, this is not your usual superhero show. This show is a smart commentary of our social live, where our communication cannot be separated from our use in technology and social media. This show also able to criticize human society without really judging if it is good or bad. This is reasons why we choose this show as one of the best anime in 2015. (Dany)
