As previously reported, Elex Media has announced that Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun manga is planned to be released in Indonesia soon. On 8 February 2019, the social media account of Elex Media has confirmed that it will publish Iro Aida’s Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun manga and Emi Ishikawa’s Scary Lessons–Reincarnation manga in Indonesia. Both are listed in Elex Media Comic Sneak Peek published in the Elex Media’s official forum.

Further, on Tuesday, 12 February 2019, the social media account of the Elex Media’s editors of comics has also stated that the first volume of Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun will be released in March 2019, and confirmed that the title will become Hanako Si Arwah Penasaran.

Serialized in Square Enix’s GFantasy magazine in June 2014, Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun tells about the number seven mystery in the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Academy, Hanako. Hanako is a ghost who lives in the third toilet on the third floor of the old school building and rumoured to grant wishes. The story revolves around Nene Yashiro who always gets involved in supernatural matters at her school.

Scary Lessons–Reincarnation (Zekkyou Gakkyuu Tensei) is a sequel to Ishikawa’s original Scary Lessons manga. Scary Lessons follows a ghost girl named Yomi (Hells) who tells the reader various scary stories. The stories tell of horrors which slumbers in the midst of everyday life and waited to pounce on the unsuspecting.

The original Scary Lessons manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Ribon magazine in 2008 and ended with 20 volumes in February 2015. Later, Ishikawa launched the Scary Lessons–Reincarnation series in June 2015. The manga has been ongoing for eight volumes and still continues. The manga was adapted into a live-action film in June 2013 and received a special anime adaptation in April 2016.

Elex Media Komputindo is a publishing unit under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics.
