Indonesian comics publisher Elex Media Komputindo is releasing the new Godhand Teru one-shot volume Godhand Teru: The Silence Corona 2020 and the short series Lil’ Sis Please Cook for Me! (Imouto-tachi ni Yakasetai) in Indonesia. The books are included in the list of new comic books scheduled to be shipped on 22 September 2021. According to the product listings at Gramedia.com, Godhand Teru: The Silence Corona 2020 retails for IDR 30,000 (about US$ 2.1) while Lil’ Sis Please Cook for Me! retails for IDR 40,000 (about US$ 2.8).
Godhand Teru is a medical manga series by Kazuki Yamamoto, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine from 2001 to 2011, ending with 62 volumes. The main character, Teru Mahigashi, is a surgeon at Yasuda Kinen Hospital just out of medical school. While he appears to be clumsy, he never fails to save his patients from life-threatening conditions. The new one-shot was released in 2020 and sees Teru and the staff of Yasuda Kinen hospital facing the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Elex Media has previously published the Godhand Teru manga series in Indonesia.
Created by Iunosu, Lil’ Sis Please Cook for Me! was serialized in Shogakukan’s Manga One app and Ura Sunday website in 2016. The series has finished with two volumes. Elex Media describes the story as follows:
Tsukishima, Tokyo. This is the holy land of the flour-based food known as ‘monja’. The 21-year-old eldest son of Umikawa family, Yuzuki (21), was born and raised there, and for some reasons, he has to succeed a monja restaurant! Having his hands full with serving customers and thinking up new menus… none of her four younger sisters seem to show any interest in helping him, though! Lil’ sis, won’t you please lend me a hand!!
Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media also published comics that intended for adult audiences under the Level Comics imprint.
