At World Cosplay Summit in Saudi Arabia, Indonesian cosplayers made another international achievement. The Indonesian team, represented by Rian CYD and Yumaki, has been awarded as the Grand Champion of the WCS Exhibition Event at Gamers8 event. Held from September 3 to 4, 2022, The Indonesian representatives performed as Goku Xenoverse and Cell Xenoverse from Dragon Ball Heroes.
Indonesian representatives compete against 38 other nations in the event. The Chile team took second place and Best Crafted Costume Award, while Spain got third place, Mexico got fourth, Latvia got fifth, and Denmark took the Best Stage Performance Award.
Both Rian CYD and Yumaki have represented Indonesia in the World Cosplay Summit event. Rian CYD is a part of the Indonesian World Cosplay Summit Team that took first place in the 2016 World Cosplay Summit Event, while Yumaki is a part of the Indonesian WCS Team that took second place in the 2018 event.

This exhibition event is the first World Cosplay Summit event held outside Japan. The 2022 World Cosplay Summit event was held in Nagoya, Japan, from August 5 to 7, 2022. For the 2022 event, Indonesia only joined the video division due to the COVID-19 traveling restriction. In that event, the Indonesian WCS team video won the Special Prize Performance – Action Awards.
World Cosplay Summit is an international annual cosplay event started in 2003 in Osu, Nagoya. It was created to promote international exchange through the Japanese youth culture of manga and anime. Today, the event has included 39 countries and regions from all around the world.
