Indonesian cosplayers made another international achievement as two cosplayers from Yogyakarta, Yumaki and iBun of team sweX ID, won the second place at the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) 2018. The first place was taken by the team from Mexico, while the third by the team from Thailand.
In the World Cosplay Summit 2018, Yumaki and iBun performed a fight scene between Hanbei Takenaka and Orochi from the game Warriors Orochi 3, with its spectacular choreography. Moreover, they both did cosplay as si Bolang and si Unyil, characters from Indonesian children TV programmes, in their introduction video. Furthermore, they also received Sponsor Award achievement from Azur Lane game as one of the sponsors of World Cosplay Summit 2018 in the Best Armored Costume category.
Yumaki and iBun represents Indonesia in World Cosplay Summit 2018 after previously going through Indonesian Cosplay Grand Prix (ICGP) Qualification Round in Yogyakarta and its Grand Final in Jakarta in Ennichisai 2018 event which was held on July 2018.

Located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, World Cosplay Summit is an international-scale annual event which mainly focus on cosplay (costume play) culture. World Cosplay Summit has also received support from Nagoya City Government, Aichi Prefecture Government, and also several central government departments such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan. In order to celebrate the event itself, officials of Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City often cosplays as well, such as what the current Aichi Prefecture Governor, Hideki Omura, did as Kirito from Sword Art Online.
Participants of this year’s event come from Indonesia, Australia, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Myanmar, Belgium, India, Switzerland, Canada, Sweden, Brazil, China, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Portugal, and Kuwait.
For Indonesia this is the 7th year of its participation in World Cosplay Summit since the competition was first held in 2012. Additionally, Indonesia had won the first place in World Cosplay Summit 2016.
