Indonesian singer Sherina Munaf, once famous as a child singer, has lend her voice to sing for a number of Japanese commercials. The commercials are those of House Food, a food and seasoning company, and are made by Studio Ghibli. Sherina herself, whose father Triawan Munaf now headed Indonesia’s Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf), is currently studying in Japan.

In hte commercials, Sherina performed the song “Niwa no Chigusa“, based on Irish song “The Last Rose of Summer“. The former producer of Ghibli, Toshio Suzuki, commented that the voice of the daughter of the chief of the Indonesian creative Economic Agency, Triawan Munaf, has something in common with classic Japanese singer.
