Previously CGV Cinemas Indonesia had announced the delay of the World Premiere of Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale in Indonesia from its planned date of February 18 due to technical problems. Regarding the delay, CGV Cinemas Indonesia and Jive Movie as the distributor stated that even though Indonesia could not get simultaneous World Premiere as planned, a Special screening event will be conducted.

Through their Facebook fanpage, Jive Movie said that the Special Screening of Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale will be held on February 25, 2017 for that day only. The location of the Special Screening is the same as the planned World Premiere, at CGV Cinemas Indonesia Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta.

As CGV Cinemas told before, in this Special Screening viewers will be able get special merchandises. Jive Movie has announced that the merchandises provided include cards with signature of the characters’ voice actor/actress, mini cup, A2-size poster, and clear folder.

In this Special Screening, Jive Movie has announced that there will be two types of tickets. The first one is Gold Class ticket for Rp 450,000 (about US$ 33.76) which includes ticket to watch the film at the Gold Class theater of CGV Cinemas Grand Indonesia, 6 signature cards, a mini cup, 2 A2-size posters, and a clear folder. The second is Regular Class ticket for Rp 125,000 (about US$ 9.38) which includes a ticket to watch at Regular Class, 2 signature cards, and 2 A2-size posters.

The schedule for the screening of the film is different for each class. For the Gold Class ticket holders, the film will be screened at 2.30 pm. As for Regular Class ticket holders, the schedule is at 4.00 pm.

Tickets have been available for order since Wednesday, 22 February 2017. The ticket could be purchased at CGV Cinema Indonesia official site, or through GGV Cinemas smartphone application. It could also be purchased at CGV Cinemas ticket box at Grand Indonesia.

The regular screening for Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale will beginin Indonesia in March 2017 at CGV Cinemas, Cinemaxx and Platinum.

Taking place after the Mother Rosario arc, Ordinal Scale will feature a completely new storyline.

Synopsis:

“In 2026, 2 years after the SAO incident, a new Augmented-Reality MMO game titled “Ordinal Scale” gained popularity among teenagers, but now, the game faces looming danger, as well as our hero, Kirito, and his friends.”

Reki Kawahara is handling the script for the movie, while Tomohiko Ito returns as the Movie Director. Character designer Shingo Adachi is working on the character designs as well.

LiSA is returning as the singer for Ordinal Scale‘s theme song, titled “Catch the Moment”. The video clip for the song has been released as well on Youtube.

Written in 2009, Sword Art Online (otherwise known as SAO) is a light novel series that tells the adventures of Kirito inside a Virtual Reality world. It all started when Kirito and Asuna are trapped in a Virtual Reality game world called Sword Art Online. If they happen to die in the game, then they will die in the real world as well. Together with thousands of other players, Kirito has to fight through hundred floors in Aincrad tower to escape from the game. The novel has been adapted to several animation projects, video games, comic serializations, and other adaptations.

Sword Art Online has also been reported to have a Hollywood live-action adaptation, but no further news are available until now.
