After giving several hints on instagram, Indonesian publisher Penerbit Haru has confirmed that they will release Yukito Ayatsuji’s horror novel series Another in Indonesia. The announcement was made on Thursday (2/8) where it’s mentioned that the novel is “coming soon”. However, the exact release date has not berb announced yet.
Set in year 1998, the original novel tells the story of Kōichi Sakakibara who just transferred into Yomiyama middle school class 3-3, a school located in fictional Yomuyama city. In that school she met Mei Misaki, a school girl who is ignored by everybody in the school, as if she did not exist at all. After that, mysterious phenomena started to occur in his class, where his classmates and teacher began to die in gruesome ways. Soon Kōichi began to realize that this phenomenon is actually related to another incident that had happened before in 1972, when a student named Misaki died in mysterious incident.
The novel was first serialized in Yasai Jidai magazine from 2006 to 2009. The story was then released in tankoubon format on 29 October 2009, followed by bunkobon version which splits the story into two books. This novel has been adapted into various media, including an anime television series by studio P.A.Works which aired on winter 2012, followed by an OVA which is set before the event in television series. The author Yukito Ayatsuji had also appeared as a character in a Bungo Stray Dogs spin-off novel as a homicide detective with an ability called “Another”, which allows him to see through a criminal in a murder case
