Kisah Petualangan Bagas – Tentara Pelajar comic book is now available in English under the title “The Adventure of Bagas – Student Soldier”.
Kisah Petualangan Bagas is a fictional comic set upon the historic background of Indonesia’s struggle for independence. First published in of July 11, 2014. The comic is a collaboration between PT. Era Media Informasi (GATRA Magazine) and Caravan Studio, written by Chris Lie and Andik Prayogo, with illustrations drawn by Afif Numbo. Suryopratomo, the head of Metro TV‘s editorial staff is in charge of the comic as an editor. Other staffs include Muhammad “Bob” Hasan and Major General Zaky Makarim as a source for the historic setting of the comic.
The comic itself tells the story of Bagas, an Indonesian teenager whose parents have fallen during the Dutch and Japanese invasion. Together with his friends, he enlisted to the student army, helping Indonesia reach its independence. You can read a full review (in Indonesian) here.
