As previously reported, Indonesian TV station Rajawali Televisi (RTV) planned to air Ultraman Max in March 2021. However, RTV has postponed the debut of the show, which is now scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 13 April 2021, coinciding with the start of muslims’ fasting month of Ramadan. The show is slated to air in early morning at 3.00 West Indonesia Time (UTC+7), around the time Indonesian muslims are usually having suhur or pre-dawn meal before the fast.
Ultraman Max is the 19th Ultraman TV series and the sixth to air in the Heisei period. The show stars Souta Aoyama as Touma Kaito, a young man who often rescues people from natural disasters and seeks to join DASH. Though he failed his entrance test because his actions were deemed endangering his own safety, he recklessly replaces a wounded DASH member to fight a giant monster. Touma nearly gets killed in the battle, but he was saved by the being called Ultraman Max who bonds with him, and they begin to defend the Earth from monsters together.
Previously, Ultraman Max has also been shown in Indonesia on Global TV, Trans TV, and in 2012 on Indosiar following Ultraman Mebius. RTV has also aired Ultraman Taiga, Ultraman R/B, Ultraman Geed, Ultraman Orb, Ultraman X, Ultraman Ginga and Ginga S, Ultraman Zero the Chronicle, Ultraman Mebius, and Ultraman Cosmos. The shows are also streamed on RTV’s Ultraman YouTube channel.
