JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a manga series by Hirohiko Araki that first began serialisation in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1987, though it has moved to Ultra Jump since 2005. The series is comprised of separate parts that each feature a different main character who bears the nickname “JoJo”, with Part 8 recently concluded in August 2021. The first part of the series, Phantom Blood, takes place in late 19th century England and tells the conflict between Jonathan Joestar, the heir of the wealthy Joestar family, and his adoptive brother Dio Brando, who seeks to take over the family’s fortunes for himself. When Dio transforms into a vampire using an ancient stone mask, Jonathan has to learn how to harness an energy called hamon to put an end to Dio’s threat.

Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga, and also Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media also created a new imprint called Level Comics to publish mature-rated comics.
