On Friday (3/6), the social media account of Elex Media Komputindo‘s comic editors posted a list of the publisher’s ten best-selling comics in May 2022. The 33rd volume of Attack on Titan takes the top spot, followed by the first volume of Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, and the 12th volume of Komi Sulit Berkomunikasi (Komi can’t Communicate).

Attack on Titan is a manga series by Hajime Isayama, which tells about a world where the human race is attacked by titans, giant human-like creatures that consume humans. Facing this situation, the human race built 50 meters-high walls and stayed behind the walls peacefully for a century. But one day, a giant titan came and broke through the wall, making the human race have to face the titans once more. The manga revolves around three best friends: Eren, Misaka, Armin, who joined the anti-titan forces to defeat them while investigating the secrets of their existence.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a manga series by Hirohiko Araki that first began serialisation in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1987, though it has moved to Ultra Jump since 2005. The series is comprised of separate parts that each feature a different main character who bears the nickname “JoJo”, with Part 8 recently concluded in August 2021. The first part of the series, Phantom Blood, takes place in late 19th century England and tells the conflict between Jonathan Joestar, the heir of the wealthy Joestar family, and his adoptive brother Dio Brando, who seeks to take over the family’s fortunes for himself. When Dio transforms into a vampire using an ancient stone mask, Jonathan has to learn how to harness energy called hamon to put an end to Dio’s threat.
Written and illustrated by Tomohito Oda, Komi Sulit Berkomunikasi tells the story of Shouko Komi, a 15-years old high school girl who is regarded as the prettiest girl at school. She’s known as a cool beauty, but her classmate Hitohito Tadano knows the truth that she’s actually bad at communicating with others. Komi tries to fix this problem with Tadano’s help. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine since May 2016. It was originally published as a one-shot in Shin Sedai Sunday Grand Prix in 2015 before getting serialized.
