Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan tells a story about a world where the human race is attacked by titans, giant human-like creatures that consume humans. Facing this situation, the human race built 50 meters-high walls and stayed behind the walls peacefully for a century. But one day, a giant titan came and broke through the wall, making the human race have to face the titans once more. The manga revolves around three best friends: Eren, Misaka, Armin, who joined the anti-titan forces to defeat them while investigating the secrets of their existence.

Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, the story of Blue Lock began with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The elimination prompts the Japan Football Union to start a program for high school football players in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. The Union initiates a prison-like training institution called Blue Lock, which isolates 300 young forwards and puts them through rigorous training to create “the world’s greatest egoistic striker”. Blue Lock began its serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine in August 2018.

Hiroyuki Takei‘s Shaman King follows a shaman named Yoh Asakura, who takes part in the Shaman Fight held every 500 years to become the Shaman King who is able to contact the Great Spirit. The series was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump between 1998 and 2004 and was collected in 32 volumes. In 2017, Kodansha acquired Shaman King from Shueisha, re-releasing the series with 35 volumes with the “true ending” and new cover art from Takei. The series has been adapted into anime in 2001, and a new anime adaptation has aired in April 2021.

Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga and Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media also published comics that were intended for adult audiences under the new imprint called Level Comics.
