On their Instagram, m&c! publisher announced their 2022 best-selling Indonesian comics that were published under their KOLONI imprint. There are six Indonesian comics included in that list. They are:
- Journal of Terror.
- Sinawang.
- My Pre-Wedding.
- Flawless.
- GHOSTY’s Comic.
- 5 Menit Sebelum Tayang.
Created by Sweta Kartika, the Journal of Terror follows the story of Prana, who has the ability to see ghosts. Prana thinks he has this ability because he shares the same vision with his dead twin brother. Now, Prana shares what he sees in a journal. The comic was first published as a webcomic in CIAYO Comics before being published by KOLONI in tankoubon format since 2019. The comic also has a novel version.
Created by Dedy Koerniawan, Sinawang is a collection of horror stories that are connected by a mysterious necklace. The comic was also published as a webcomic in CIAYO Comics before being published in tankoubon format by KOLONI in 2022.
Created by Annisa Nisfihani, My Pre-wedding follows a civil servant named Adelia who got proposed to by an unknown man named Adimas. The series serves as a prequel to Annisa’s other comic Pasutri Gaje (literally translated as “Intricate Married Couple”) which tells of the married life of Adelia and Adimas. Originally, My Pre-wedding is serialized on LINE Webtoon before being published in tankoubon format by KOLONI since 2020.
Created by Shinshinhye, Flawless tells the story of an independent girl named Sarah and a blind boy named Elios. Sarah was charmed by Elios because he helped her when she was harassed by several boys. However, there’s an air of mystery surrounding Elios. Flawless is also first serialized on LINE Webtoon before receiving a tankoubon release by KOLONI since 2022.
Created by Fajar Hadria and Jaret Fajrianto, GHOSTY’s Comic is a series of 4-panel comics that usually revolves around Jaret and his hobbies. The comic is popular on social media, with its Instagram account followed by more than 90k followers. The GHOSTY’s Comic IP also spawned into various media like games, animation, and virtual creators.
Created by Ockto Baringbing and Muhammad Fathanatul Haq (Matto), 5 Menit Sebelum Tayang tells the story of Budi, a video editor in a TV station, and his journey in the Indonesian TV world. The comic presents his struggle as an editor and the reality behind the scene of the Indonesia TV broadcast. Originally, the comic was published by webcomic publisher Makko and Makko’s successor Kosmik MOOK. In 2015, the series is published in tankoubon format by KOLONI.
m&c! is an Indonesian comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Other than publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics magazines, books, Hong Kong martial arts comics, as well as Indonesian comics under the KOLONI imprint. The publisher also has the Akasha imprint for mature-rated comics and the Clover imprint for domestic and translated novels.
