Synopsis
Creatures from the fifth dimension called O’bli threatens to invade Earth. To fight them, Goryokan Academy gathered strikers, girls with special ability to detect the fifth dimension, in the unit called Fifth Force. The story focused on the girls in one of the teams in Fifth Force, Altair Torte.

Square Enix describes Schoolgirl Strikers as a “light novel-style RPG,” and it indeed features typical elements from light novel narratives, such as a school that trains its students for battle. Unlike most light novels, though, there is no male lead and the main cast is composed only of pretty girls.
Director Nishikiori presents the first episode of this anime adaptation in similar manner to the first episode of A Certain Scientific Railgun which he previously directed. The episode balances some exposition about the setting, showing the daily life of the main characters to illustrate their character types, and some monster-fighting action. A bit of plot hook about the mysterious origins of the character Tsubame is also brought up, which probably would be explored in future episodes. For now though, Schoolgirl Strikers seems to be a fun choice for viewers looking for sci-fi fighting girl action with high-tech equipments.
