Synopsis

Yūshi Inaba’s parents died when he was in his first year of middle school, and then he moved in with his relatives. Though they did care for him, he could tell that he was a burden. After he graduated, he happily prepared to move to Joutou Business High School with a dormitory. Unfortunately, the dormitory burned to the ground before he could move in! Yūshi didn’t want to live with his grudging relatives anymore, but it was rough finding lodging as an orphaned student with little money. He finally found a room in a nice old building called Kotobuki-so. But Kotobuki-so was a youkai apartment where humans and youkai live together. Yūshi’s story as a high school kid living with youkai begins!

Comments

If you think this anime series will be about youkai that creeps and haunts human life, then you are wrong. The anime that is adapted from the light novel series that tells the story of our main character who begin to live together with youkai. Surely when two existences from different dimensions lead the same life, no one knows how the story proceeds.

The opening song, as well as the closing song that accompanies the show, also feel very catchy and brings back the vibe from old anime song. Certainly, one episode is not enough to be a benchmark whether this series is worth to continue. Of course, as a slice of life anime, it will take some time for the characters and the story to develop. Therefore, I feel that the next episode of this series will be interesting to wait for.
