Comments

For those who aren’t familiar with this series, Hitorijime My Hero anime version is actually an adaptation of 2 different BL (Boys Love) manga that revolve in the same universe and created by same comic artist. Because of that, this anime will focusing on 2 different pair, Kousuke Oshiba-Masahiro “Settie” Setagawa from Hitorijime My Hero manga and Kensuke Oshiba-Asaya Hasekura from Hitorijime Boyfriend manga.

Hitorijime My hero’s story is quite interesting, particularly when it focuses on Masahiro’s problem. As a character, Masahiro is sympathizing because he comes from a dysfunctional family. He is a good-natured student, but his family condition make him feels lonely. Unfortunately, other characters aren’t really interesting. There is a room for growth, however, especially because Kensuke-Asaya couple’s conflict hasn’t been explored yet. They seem to have problem in their childhood days, but the detail has yet to be revealed.

In the end, it is hard to recommend Hitorijime My Hero for those who aren’t interested in BL. But if you are looking for some change, check this out. It still can be considered safe for a newcomer, and the story is quite interesting, especially if you can relate to the character’s problem.
