Indonesian TV station Rajawali Televisi (RTV) announced on Friday (18/9) that Sailor Moon Crystal will be aired on the channel. The post on RTV’s Facebook account reveals that the anime will start airing on the channel on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 17.30 West Indonesia Time (UTC+7).

Sailor Moon Crystal is the new anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi‘s magical girl manga Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. The series tells of clumsy crybaby teenage girl Usagi Tsukino, who met a mysterious cat named Luna. Luna gives Usagi the power to transform into a sailor-suited warrior of love and justice, Sailor Moon and gives her the mission to gather the other Sailor Soldiers so they can protect their Princess and her tremendously powerful Silver Crystal. Unlike the previous anime adaptation from the 1990s, Sailor Moon Crystal adapts the manga more closely. A two-part theatrical film sequel titled Sailor Moon Eternal, which adapts the “Dead Moon” arc, is planned to be released in 2021.

The past Sailor Moon anime had also been aired in Indonesia by, the TV station Indosiar in 1995 dan 2013, with a well-known dubbed theme song. The manga has also been published by Elex Media Komputindo, first with the tankoubon edition in the 1990s and later with the kanzenban edition in the 2010s.
