The Japan Foundation Jakarta will hosting the 7th iteration of their interactive discussion forum, Japanscope. Announced through The Japan Foundation’s official Facebook fanpage, the event will be held on Saturday, 27 May 2017 from 09.30 am to 12.00 pm West Indonesia Time in The Japan Foundation Hall, Summitmas 1 building, second floor, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav 61-62, South Jakarta. Participants can register online through this link.

This discussion will once again revolve around Japanese pop culture, with the heading “Japanese Pop-Culture: In-Between Commodity and Media for Diplomacy?” The forum will discuss whether Japanese pop culture are just market commodities or if they also have function for Japan’s diplomacy. Participants will get a deeper look into the impact of this issue into the views of Indonesian people regarding Japan.

The poster lists Dr. Susy Ong as the moderator of the discussion, while the presenter will be Mr. Himawan Pratama and Mr. Aji Yudisthira.
