Indonesian comics publisher m&c! has announced two new manga licenses. On Friday (2/1), The publisher’s Facebook account posted cover images for Kore Yamazaki’s The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga and Iruka Shiomiya’s manga adaptation of Kino’s Journey: the Beautiful World, with the caption “soon.” There is no further information yet about the release dates, format, and price of the manga.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a manga series by Kore Yamazaki that was initially serialized in Mag Garden‘s Monthly Comic Blade since 2013, and later in Monthly Comic Garden since 2014. It tells the story of Chise Hatori, a girl who can see supernatural creatures and became ostracized from society because of it. Feeling unwanted, she decided to sell herself at a magicians’ auction. There, a magician named Elias bought her and made her his disciple, and also prepared her to become his wife.

The manga has been collected into ten tankoubon volumes so far and also has been adapted into an anime series by WIT Studio that aired between October 2017 until March 2018, preceded by a three part prequel OVA released between March to September 2017.

Kino’s Journey is a light novel series by Keiichi Sigsawa with illustrations by Kohaku Kuroboshi, published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint of ASCII Media Works since 2010. The stories mainly follow the journeys of a young traveler called Kino who travels the world on a talking motorrad named Hermes. Kino and Hermes traveled to various countries with unique customs and ways of life, only staying in each country for three days and avoid interfering with their affairs.

The novels have reached 21 volumes and have been adapted into anime series two times. The first anime series was made at A.C.G.T and Genco and directed by Ryutaro Nakamura, which aired between April to July 2003. The second anime series was made at Lerche and directed by Tomohisa Taguchi, which aired between October to December 2017.

The series has recently also spawned two manga adaptations. The first, drawn by Iruka Shiomiya, began serialization in Kodansha‘s Shonen Magazine since March 2017 and has been collected into four tankoubon volumes so far. Another manga adaptation by Gou began serialization in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh magazine since May 2017 and has been collected into three tankoubon volumes so far.

m&c! is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Other than publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics magazines and books, as well as Indonesian comics.
