Previously, film distributor Encore Films Indonesia has hinted the release of Makoto Shinkai‘s latest film, Weathering With You (Tenki no Ko). On Monday (8/7), Encore Films Indonesia has finally revealed the premiere date of the film. On the picture that posted on their facebook page, it was announced that the film will be released on August 21, 2019, only one month after its Japanese theatrical release date.

When small-town high schooler Hodaka Morishima makes a go at living on his own in Tokyo for the first time, it isn’t long before he finds steady work writing for a local magazine focused on all things strange and supernatural — but the most interesting thing happening in the boy’s life is the unusual weather. Rain’s common enough in the city that at first, no one makes much of the recent torrential showers that never seem to end, but unbeknownst to nearly everyone, a young girl named Hina Amano who has the ability to control the weather walks among them.
Weathering With You is an upcoming film directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by CoMixWave Films, following Shinkai’s previous work in 2016, Your name. (Kimi no na wa.). Shinkai also wrote the script, while the character is designed by Masayoshi Tanaka. It is slated to be released in Japan on July 19, 2019, starring Kotaro Daigo as Hodaka Morishima and Nana Mori as Hina Amano. The rock music group RADWIMPS, who worked on the soundtrack for Your name. will do the same with this film.
Previously, Your name. has also been screened in Indonesia in December 2016.
