On Tuesday (19/11), Indonesian comic book publisher m&c! has revealed that Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen manga is planned to be released in Indonesia. In its official Facebook account, m&c!​ has posted a picture of the manga with the caption “for next year“. Detailed information about the specific release date, format, and price of the manga has yet to be revealed.

Written and drawn by Aka Akasaka, Kaguya-sama​​ tells about Miyuki Shirogane ​and Kaguya Shinomiya​ who are respectively, the president and vice president of the student council at the prestigious Shuchiin Academy. They are considered genius due to having the highest grades among all students. But after spending so much time they started to fall for each other. Unfortunately, both of them are too proud to be the first to confess their feelings. Thus their relationship becomes a competition of love where the first to confess would be the “loser”.

Akasaka began the serialization of the manga in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump magazine in May 2015 but moved it to Young Jump in March 2016. It has been compiled into sixteen volumes of manga and inspired two spinoff manga series. The manga has also been adapted into an anime TV series aired in Winter 2019​, directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama with A-1 Pictures for the animation production. It has also been confirmed that the anime will get second season but detailed information about the specific airing date has yet to be revealed.

Kaguya-sama​​​ also has been adapted into a live-action film which is directed by Hayato Kawai and the with script written by Yūichi Tokunaga​. Japanese actor Sho Hirano played Shirogane in the film while Kanna Hashimoto played Shinomiya.

m&c! is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia group. Other than publishing manga, the publisher also publishes Disney comics magazines, and books, Hong Kong martial arts comics, as well as Indonesian comics under the Koloni label.
