Synopsis

In a world where 80% of its inhabitants possess special abilities called quirk, the quirkless boy Izuku Midoriya is pursuing his dream to be a hero at the UA Academy with the help of top hero All Might, who has inherited his powers to the young man. At the end of the previous season, Izuku and his classmates had just survived a deadly attack from the Villain Alliance invading their school facility. But there’s still no rest for them as a major event is coming around the corner: the prestigious UA Sports Festival where the students can demonstrate their skills to the public.

Comments

Back to school! Kicking off the second season, this episode still relies on plenty of flashbacks and expository dialogues to help viewers keeping up with the events of the first season. But thankfully, the school scenes can effectively depict the interactions between the students that demonstrates the growth of their friendships since the events of the USJ Invasion arc. The opening sequence promises exciting action animation for the Sports Festival. But no less important would be how the show delves deeper into the characters and their motivations to do their bests in the competition, already hinted especially with Ochako in the first episode, which would lend the story powerful emotional weights.
