Synopsis

Aoi Yukimura, a girl who likes indoor activities and afraid of heights,  was taken to the hobby of mountain climbing at the start of high school by her childhood friend, Hinata, leading them to find new friends and experiences. Now, as they get past the summer break, what other places will they ascend next?

Encouragement of Climb returns for the third season with its usual stride, unrushed but steady. In the quarter of an hour duration that continues from the second season, the first episode takes viewers to enjoy the delight of the scenery as Aoi and Hinata takes a relaxed ascent of Mt. Tsukuba. And the enjoyment is accentuated by gentle musical compositions from yamazo/Tom-H@ck for the show, as well as the characters’ own delightful responses to the scenery. Callbacks to previous ascents underlined how much the girls has experienced throughout the series’ measured journey, and also how much they’re bonded together through mountain climbing. Aoi’s failure to reach the top of Mt. Fuji in the second season is still in her mind. But she has accepted it composedly and determined to learn and prepare better to take on the mountain again at another time. With all that, this third season is shaping up to continue to present charming journeys for longtime viewers of the series.
