As an anime fans from a badminton-crazed country, I had been looking forward to whether there will be sports anime about badminton. After a long wait, this kind of anime is finally coming!
The anime feels “unique” for me because it features two main characters who are already proficient in their game, but it turns out they hold a grudge from the past. Nagisa is still bitter because of the landslide defeat and Hane wants to stop playing badminton after that match. Apparently, it would be a pretty interesting drama in the first few episodes. And, yes, the badminton action in this anime is really great. The animation looks so slick. The sound design makes you feel like watching a real badminton game (that I feel like I can hear the shouts that Indonesian badminton supporters usually do in the stadium).
Hanebado! seems to feature the drama from its potentially strong casts. And aside from that, the badminton action is so exciting. Ready to watch this badminton anime?
