On Thursday (2/2), Indonesian book publisher Elex Media Komputindo posted a list of their January 2023 best-selling comics. Spy X Family volume 8 takes first place, followed by Jujutsu Kaisen volume 8 and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba volume 12 in second and third place.

Illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, Spy x Family tells the story of a spy who works under the codename Twilight. His latest mission is to approach the extremely cautious politician Donovan Desmond by infiltrating his son’s school. To do that, Twilight has to put together a (phoney) family with an orphan girl named Anya as a (phoney) daughter and an ordinary civil servant named Yor as a (phoney) wife. The manga has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shounen Jump+ website and app since March 2019 with the English version released simultaneously on Shueisha’s Manga Plus website and app.
Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen manga tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a student who lives in a world where negative energy called Curse can bring disaster to the world. Itadori’s life changed as he becomes a student at a school that trains Curse exterminators. The manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018. The manga also received an anime adaptation, which began airing in October 2020.
Written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba tells the story of Tanjirou Kamado, the eldest son of a poor family who lives during the Taisho era. One day, his whole family were slaughtered by an unknown demon when he left home. The only family member who survived is her little sister Nezuko. Unfortunately, Nezuko also begins to transform into a demon. Now Tanjirou has to undergo a dangerous journey to find a cure for his half-demon sister.
Elex Media Komputindo is a comics publisher under the Kompas-Gramedia Group. The publisher releases licensed foreign comics, including manga and Indonesian comics. Since 2005, Elex Media also published comics intended for adult audiences under the new imprint Level Comics.
