As previously reportedThe Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Calls The Stars film will be screened outside Japan in several countries including Indonesia. The film itself has been screened in Japan since 17 June 2017.

On Wednesday (9/8), the official Facebook page of ODEX Private Limited announced the screening schedules for several East and Southeast Asian countries. For Indonesia, there will be a special fan screening on 16 September 2017 which cost IDR 490,000 (US$ 36.67) with merchandises such as 3 signature cards, white T-shirt, A2 poster, A4 folder, porcelain cup, and paper bag. The location for the fan screening has yet to be announced. While the general release for the film will start on 20 September 2017 with normal ticket price.

The story of the film is set in the spring of the second year. Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba had just finished their freshmen year in the magic school and are enjoying their holiday at their villa in Ogasawara Islands. In the middle of their quality time, suddenly a lonely yet mysterious girl appears in the front of them, seeking Tatsuya’s help after escaping from a naval base.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei or also known as The Irregular at Magic School is a light novel series by Tsutomu Satou which tells the story of a pair of sibling, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, in a magic school with updated technologies in using magics. But in that school, the two are admitted to different classes, where the younger Miyuki admitted into the talented class while the older Tatsuya admitted into the regular class.

The light novel series is illustrated by Kana Ishida and has been published by Dengeki Bunko since 2008. The series received an anime adaptation in 2014 which was produced by animation studio Madhouse. The film itself is scheduled to debut in Japan starting on 17 June 2017.
