Natsunosuke Bonda has been a relief pitcher for professional baseball team Spiders for 8 years. Compared to the other baseball teams, Spiders operate on a “caste” basis where players are getting paid depending on their performance. Due to this nature, Natsunosuke has developed a unique talent where he can measure his rivals and competitors based on their yearly salary.

Gurazeni: Money Pitch is different than most baseball anime. You could even argue that Gurazeni is a “baseball anime without baseball”, and that’s because of Natsunosuke Bonda’s drive in the team: to get paid even more. In Gurazeni, money is everything. If you play well in matches, you get a huge sum of money. That is how professional baseball team Spiders work, and this is what led Natsunosuke to gain his uncanny skill where he can measure his competitors’ skills by comparing their salary to his own (18 million yen per year).
Gurazeni might not be the most visually appealing anime this season, but for those who are still craving for baseball anime other than Major 2 this season, Gurazeni is still worth a shot.
