On Friday (14/9), Japanese pop culture event organizer Japan Culture Daisuki announced a new mix media project called Love Convention Project. The project will consist of a visual novel game, a webtoon, and Japanese pop culture events that will be held in 2 cities in East Java, which are Malang and Surabaya. Japan Culture Daisuki touted Love Convention as “a project where you can visit, read, and play”.
The visual novel, which is called Love Convention the Game, is a dating sim where the heroines are each representing a part of a Japanese culture event. One of the heroines is Ara Akazora, the mascot of Japan Culture Daisuki, while the other characters’ names and designs has not been revealed yet. There is no information yet on the release date and platform for the game. However from the stories posted on Japan Culture Daisuki’s instagram account, the game is planned to be released in the second quarter of 2019.
The webtoon version, which is called Love Convention the Series, will tell the daily lives of the characters from the game. The webtoon will be released weekly on Instagram and Line webtoon. The exact release date of the webtoon has not been announced yet. However, some teaser pages has been uploaded to their facebook page.
The project will also include Japanese pop culture events that will be held in two different cities in East Java. The first event is Chibi Daisuki, which will be held in December 2018 in Surabaya. The second event is Daisuki Japan Festival which will be held in March 2019 in Malang where the Indonesian World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Qualification for Malang region will take place.
Established in 2012, Japan Culture Daisuki is a Japanese pop culture event organizer based in Malang, East Java. Japan Culture Daisuki has been organizing some well known Japanese pop culture events in various cities in East Java, including 2014 Daisuki Japan! Wonderpop Matsuri event whose guest star is Japanese anisong singer Mika Kobayashi.
