After some silence, it seems that Studio Ghibli is ready to serve Indonesian fans.
The official account announced that the reservation for the screening of Spirited Away film will be opened on their official website. The early sales then opened at 1620 WIB (0920 GMT).

The screening will be hold at 21 Cinema theatre network around Indonesia. Spirited Away film is the first film to get screened, while other titles such as My Neighbour Totoro, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle are slated for the following months. The ticket price is same as regular film in 21 Cinema, varying from Rp40.000 to Rp60.000 (USD 3 to USD 5.7 ).
It was announced before that Ghibli will conduct exhibition and première of their movies in Indonesia. Branded The World of Ghibli Indonesia, Ghibli partnered with Indonesian film studio Kaninga Pictures and Hayao Miyazaki was reported also very excited with Ghibli’s Indonesian roadshow. The first announcement was warmly receipted with some netizens actively calling for more Ghibli presence in Indonesia.
Previously, Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises was screened at Indonesian theatres in 2014.
